Makeup for different face shapes

Makeup for different face shapes

1.     Oval shape
-       Naturally arched brows
-       Emphasise either eyes or lips
-       Highlight your features eg chin, cheekbones and cheeks
-       Use normal foundation tone.

2.     Round shape
-Use a darker foundation to blend towards the center of your face, downward and inward from the temples and upward and inward from the jaw.
-Create angles with highlighter in the middle of the forehead and chin to create a more angular look.
- Apply blush under the cheekbones and blend upward towards your temples.
- Line eyes with softly smudged eyeliner. Use darker shade of eyeshadow toward the outer portion of eyelid and lighter shade toward the inner part.

3.     Square shape
-       Define your cheekbones with two different shades of blush
-       Opt for a plump and dramatic lip to draw attention away from your jaw
-       Shade and soften the corners of your face with bronzer or darker foundation
-       Highlight center of forehead, chin and cheekbones

4.     Oblong shape
-       Contouring can make it appear more proportioned.
-       Shade and shorten by using a darker pressed powder/ bronzer along the hairline at the top of the forehead and blend downwards
-       Apply bronzer to only the bottom of the chin to make the face appear slightly shorter
-       Contour with bronzer & focus on cheekbones to make face appear broader, apply it under the cheekbones in the hollow and blend up and out toward the hairline.
-       Highlight cheeks with blush on the apples and highlight the very highest points of the cheek.
-       Play up your eyes with cat eye, bold eyeshadow colours and dramatic lashes.

5.     Heart shape
-Countouring should aim to downplay prominent cheekbones and pointy chin
-Use a stick foundation that is a shade or two darker than your natural skin tone to shade and soften your face. Apply under cheekbones and blend from ear downward at an angle.
-Round out your chin by using a foundation that is a shade or two lighter to highlight. Apply product at the center of forehead and above cheekbones.
- Draw a natural thick brow with a straight arch  to create the illusion of a thinner forehead.

6.     Diamond shape
-       Opt for a natural brow with a wider center
-       Use a darker shade of blush
-       Soften chin with darker foundation

Knowing how to use makeup to enhance your features strategically for your own faceshape is important as every individual is unique and knowing how to apply makeup effectively to your advantage is definitely an asset for every woman.
