Colours to wear to an interview
The rule of thumb for most interviews is to
wear black or dark blue for ladies or plain solid colours.
For men, you can mix it up a little by
going for a lilac coloured shirt under your black or dark grey suit.
Neutral solid colours are the safest choice
when it comes to an interview.
Examples of such colours would be brown,
blue, gray, black, white or beige for woman.
Different colours convey a different
message. For example, the colour gray would convey sophistication and enables
you to look powerful yet less domineering than if you were to wear black.
Black can be deemed as authoritative,
dramatic and powerful it is ideal for a high level executive position or a job
in an conservative industry like law.
It is ok to add a pop of colour like red in
the form of a scarf or tie but avoid wearing overly bright and distracting
colours to an interview as you want to be remembered for your substance and not
for your over the top outfit or appearance.
