Grooming can broadly defined in many aspects.  Subconsciously as human beings, we are attracted to beautiful looking things. There is a biased affinity for attractive people in society be it in seeking for employment, choosing a potential mate and it starts from a young age where we pick our friends. While we may not be consciously aware, the way we dress, carry ourselves starting from our posture, to the texture and colour of our attire all convey a message to a person who we just meet. More attractive people are often associated with more positive traits and connotations.


While we may not all be genetically blessed, nor have the resources to undergo plastic surgery there are many things that we can do within our means to look the best that we can which are affordable for the everyday person. Here are some suggestions and rituals that you can follow to bring out the best of yourself without having to burn a hole in your wallet.



Grooming can be deemed as an indication of respect, both for yourself as well as for your job and the people you are meeting.  It is an indication of whether a person has the discipline to instill certain routines to maintain good hygiene and social manners. Simple things would include making sure you don’t have nose hair and arm pit hair sticking out unnecessarily especially if you are female and taking regular showers and wearing clean clothes that are pressed and that fit your body well.

While many of you may be unaware, being well groomed is extremely crucial especially when you are being interviewed for a job, meeting clients and in everyday business interaction. It associated as a form of credibility and very often you are assessed on your outlook and appearance and impressions are immediately formed in a persons head before the other person even has a chance to open their mouths. Human beings are largely visual and attracted beautiful looking things. Therefore we cannot afford to be sloppy in our outlook, appearance and behavior if you want to survive in society.  Being well groomed does not require an unreasonable amount of effort or money but it can help you go a long way and increase your overall attractiveness.

Although these basic things may seem commonsensical and do not require much effort or attention there are a few people who neglect to even abide by these few basic things. Having a good hairstyle is extremely important for both men and women. Your hair reflects vitality, having a thick crop of hair is often deemed more attractive. We may not realize the importance of having a good hairstyle but it can make the world of difference as it frames your entire face and can affect your level of overall attractiveness.


2.   Have a good skin care regimen

Our skin is our largest organ and our face is the thing that most people judge be it employers, friends or potential mates. Having good skin is again an indicator of good health. Acne, pimples, open pores, facial hair is often deemed as unattractive especially for women.
